Study marks rise in psychotherapy outpatient visits and declines in medication use for mental health care

Psychotherapy assumed a larger role in outpatient mental health care while psychiatric medication without psychotherapy became less common, according to a study at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The findings are published in the American Journal of Psychiatry.
