Prepregnancy counseling, assembling multidisciplinary care teams, and referring to centers with expertise are critical in managing pregnant patients with heart failure to optimize maternal and newborn health outcomes, according to new guidance issued by the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM).
