On Monday morning, provincial police announced that a collision in Sudbury, Ontario, left two students and a school bus driver with serious injuries. Emergency crews responded to the incident involving a school bus and a commercial vehicle in the northbound lane of Highway 69 shortly before 8:30 a.m.
At the time of the collision, there were 12 students on the bus, and a total of eight individuals were subsequently taken to the hospital. Authorities confirmed that two students sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the bus driver suffered life-threatening injuries.
Five students were also taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Fortunately, the other students and the driver of the commercial vehicle were unharmed. Highway 69 will remain closed in both directions as the investigation is underway.
